Delivery and Pick Up FAQ


Q: So how does delivery work?

A: You pick the time, the place, and the gear, and our staff will choose the perfect set up for you and bring it to your accommodation or to the trail head! Use our online booking to select your location, time, and the equipment and we will take it from there. 

Q: Do I have to be present at the delivery?

A: Yes, all renters must be present at the time of delivery.  Equipment rentals for minors require a signature from a legal guardian. 

Q:  Your shop hours are from 9AM to 6PM, do you offer deliveries and pick-ups outside of this time frame?

A:  Definitely!  We will work with you and your schedule in order to find the easiest and best way for you to receive and return your equipment.

Q: What is your delivery area?

A: We will deliver anywhere in the Town of Telluride, Mountain Village, or anywhere in between at no extra charge.  Paddle Board deliveries and pickups to Trout Lake are available for an additional $25 delivery fee.

Q:  When is payment due?

A:  A 20% deposit is due at the time of booking for all rentals.  Payment in full is then due at the time of equipment rental or delivery.  No security deposits are required for bike and paddle board rentals being paid with credit cards, but we do require a $1000 security deposit to a credit card for all vehicle rentals.

Q: Can I pay cash for my rental?

A: Yes, however, we require a credit card security deposit of $200 for paddle board rentals, $500 for bike rentals, and $1000 for vehicle rentals.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: Mountain Adventure Equipment has a 7 day cancellation policy for all rentals. Reservations cancelled up to 7 days prior to delivery will receive a full refund of their deposit.  Reservations cancelled within 7 days of delivery will not receive a refund of their deposit, and reservations cancelled within 72 hours will be charged in full for their reservation.


Q: I had my gear delivered. How do I return it?

A: We will come pick it up!  At the time of delivery the rental technicians will work out a return time and location. We understand plans change, so give us a call at (970) 614-1000 and we can reschedule the pick up if needed.

Q: What happens if I do not return my gear by the agreed upon return time?

A: If your 4 hour rental is not returned on or within 4 hours of the rental time you will be charged for a full day rental.  If your full day rental is not returned by 6pm or the agreed upon return time, you will be charged for an additional 4 hour rental and your gear will be due back by the rental time the next day. We will attempt to contact you before we close to make sure you are not just running a few minutes late!
